Early arrivals to the Sundance Stompede can enjoy dinner with each other on Wednesday night at the Sausage Factory restaurant, 517 Castro Street, near 18th Street. The Sausage Factory is an old-fashioned casual traditional Italian restaurant with excellent salads, entrées, pasta, and pizza. Main courses run $15 to $25. You can view the menu here.
We'll be taking over the heated parklets in front of the restaurant. We can have up to 24 guests. To keep things as simple as possible, we'll be seated at adjacent tables of six to eight, and each table will be responsible for its own check.

Join us for a dessert social in the Castro on Wednesday night, May 25, from 8:00 to 9:00 pm at the Castro Fountain, 554 Castro St, San Francisco, a soda fountain-inspired scoop shop serving amazing housemade ice cream, plus cakes, cookies, and pies. No RSVP necessary.

ALCATRAZ ISLAND TOUR

We are creating our own unofficial group tour of Alcatraz Island.
Your tour includes round-trip ferry from Pier 33 to Alcatraz Island. Explore this famous windswept island and learn about its layered history as a fort, a notorious federal penitentiary, and the site of a 19-month occupation by the Indians of All Tribes in the name of American Indian civil rights. Rangers will be stationed around the island to assist visitors and answer questions. Includes timed access to the historic Alcatraz Cellhouse with the award-winning self-guided Cellhouse Audio Tour.
Cost: $41. The ferry departs at from Pier 33 at 12:00 noon. We'll plan on meeting in the hotel lobby at 11:00 am and travel together to the pier. Your return time is flexible, but plan on spending three hours on the island. Note: There is no food service offered on the ferry and consumption of food is prohibited on the Island.
Recommended transportation to Pier 33 is by municipal bus line (MUNI) #49, which also takes you near Ghirardelli Square and Pier 39. A MUNI day pass is $5, which you can purchase on your phone with the MuniMobile app.
